Ideally, nuts and screws should be tightened to these values:
Straps 11 Nm
Hooks 13 Nm
Clamp 14 Nm
Quick release 12 Nm
These values were meant to use for the original Cannier set. Changes in the washer sizes will affect them.
1 Nm above specified value is the plastic deformation limit. If you surpass that, the Cannier's wall will start “growing belly” around the washers.
1 Nm below specified value means parts can still move - meaning they are a bit too loose.
If you do not have a torque wrench, use the feel in your hands to stay between these limits. Tighten until you cannot rotate the parts around the screws with your hands, but stop before (or when) you see that the Cannier's walls start to move out of their plane around the screws (growing belly towards the inside or towards the outside).
